Many have said that child protection advocate and Bravehearts‘ founder, Hetty Johnston wears her heart on her sleeve. And during a radio interview on 4OUR – Moreton Bay’s Own Radio, Hetty didn’t pull any punches (listen to the podcast).

During the interview, many aspects of child safety were discussed including where it has come from over the past 20-years, what is being done (or lack of) and what desperately needs to be done.

Fresh gushing water and a heart-shaped rock pool formation make the water hole called Killarney Glen a great road-trip stop on a warm swimming weather day.

Located on the eastern side of the Beechmont–Canungra Road (see map below), the swimming hole is a steep but enjoyable walk down an unfinished or rough surfaced four-wheel-drive track. With this in mind, the destination is every bit the adequate reward for the walk down and then the walk (or climb) back up to the carpark.

The land the Killarney Glen water hole is on is owned by the Australian Defence Force and is actively used for training. This means access to the water hole can be closed off for days at a time, although it is usually open to the public on weekends.
