A high school in Brisbane, which is proud of its diversity and global culture has won this year’s GenX Unleashed.

St James College, Brisbane (a co-educational secondary college) competed in the competition which combines spoken word, music, dance and multi-media.

This competition aims to ‘Unleash the Next Generation of World Changers through Creativity’, according to its Facebook page.

St James College, Brisbane Principal, Ann Rebgetz expressed her excitement at winning the competition and outlined the benefits of participating.

“They’ve achieved excellence,” Principal Rebgetz said in the video above.

“We aim for excellence in all we do, and so achieving excellence in performance was really a victory.

“I think it’s about what you can achieve and belief in self, and that they (St James College, Brisbane students) take away that we can put this together, we can put together a very polished performance, but also send out our message and express ourselves to say, ‘This is what we feel and what we want to communicate with you as a school, with you as a community, and with the world.’

“This college is for a student who wants to do well, wants to achieve excellence, wants to make friends with the world, and wants to feel confident in stepping out into the world.

“The experiences they can gain from the college just in their normal, every daily routines, would be experiences that others need to go on an immersion trip to experience.”
